This is not just environment work.
You’ll be shaping spaces that carry narrative weight — temples, cities, roads, and landscapes that reflect history, politics, and character.
What You’ll Do- Build grounded, high-fidelity environments inspired by South Indian architecture, culture, and terrain
- Translate narrative into space — every location should feel lived-in and meaningful
- Create modular kits and reusable systems for efficient world building
- Own the full asset pipeline (high poly → low poly → UV → PBR)
- Assemble and polish levels in Unreal Engine 5 (composition, lighting, world partition)
- Optimize for performance across PC and console (draw calls, memory, LODs)
- Work closely with design and narrative to ensure environments support gameplay and story
- Collaborate on materials and shaders to push realism without breaking performance
- Mentor team members and maintain a high visual bar
- Drive adoption of UE5 features like Nanite and Lumen where it makes sense
What We’re Looking For- 5+ years in environment art (with senior-level ownership)
- Experience shipping at least one PC/Console title (AA/AAA)
- Strong understanding of modular workflows and optimization
- Advanced Unreal Engine 5 experience
- Solid fundamentals in lighting, scale, composition, and realism
- Ability to break down large environments and guide execution
- Clear communication and ownership mindset
Nice to Have- Experience working on open-world or large environments
- Understanding of historical/architectural design (especially Indian contexts is a plus)
- Experience with Houdini or procedural workflows
