About the Role
To lead and mentor a high‑performing team of software test engineers, fostering growth, inclusion, and cultural awareness. The role ensures technical ownership across testing, automation, and project delivery, driving adherence to best practices and agile methodologies. It promotes effective onboarding, knowledge transfer, and resilience within the team while championing innovation and continuous improvement. Acting as a strategic partner, the role balances technical depth with leadership influence to deliver reliable, scalable, and high‑quality software solutions aligned with organizational goals.
As per company policy, this role requires presence in the office 4 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire test engineers; conduct performance reviews; foster inclusion and psychological safety.
- Onboarding & Knowledge Transfer: Drive onboarding, maintain documentation, promote cross‑training, and build team resilience.
- Technical Ownership: Oversee design, development, and deployment; ensure coding standards; manage sprints and delivery timelines.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies; drive automation, efficiency, and knowledge sharing.
- Problem Solving: Act as escalation point for complex issues; apply structured problem‑solving; balance short‑term fixes with long‑term stability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with 3+ years in leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 8–10 direct reports, fostering professional growth and technical mastery.
- Strong proficiency in testing methodologies, test management, and automation testing expertise across frameworks and pipelines.
- ISTQB Advanced Level Test Management certification advantageous.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance technical depth with strategic leadership.
- Significant progressive experience in product development and engineering.
- Prior experience with system integration and/or architecture in multiple projects.
- Knowledge of program management, hardware/software/product design development.
- Understanding of technical challenges within digital markets preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in testing methodologies, test management, and automation testing expertise across frameworks and pipelines.
Preferred Skills
ISTQB Advanced Level Test Management certification advantageous.
