Job Description – Senior Engineering Manager
Experience: 10–14 Years
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and technology-driven Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams focused on scalable, AI-first product development. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, backend engineering, system design, AI-driven development practices, and modern engineering management.
This role requires a strong combination of technical leadership, architectural decision-making, stakeholder management, delivery ownership, and people leadership. The candidate will be responsible for driving engineering excellence, managing cross-functional collaboration, and building scalable systems aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams across backend, platform, and AI-driven product initiatives.
- Drive an “AI/Agentic First” engineering culture across development and delivery processes.
- Own end-to-end engineering delivery including planning, execution, deployment, and post-production support.
- Collaborate with Product, Business, and Leadership teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Manage sprint planning, engineering estimations, resource allocation, and release management.
Architecture & System Design
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems using modern architectural principles.
- Lead System Design discussions including HLD (High-Level Design) and LLD (Low-Level Design).
- Drive database scaling, optimization, normalization, and performance tuning initiatives.
- Build and optimize distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
- Ensure engineering best practices around observability, debugging, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization.
AI & Modern Development Practices
- Champion AI-driven and AI-recommended development methodologies.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering productivity tools such as MCP, Cursor, Windsurf, and other AI-assisted development ecosystems.
- Work closely with teams to integrate intelligent automation and agentic workflows into engineering processes.
Infrastructure & Cloud
- Lead cloud infrastructure initiatives on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Oversee deployment, scalability, security, and reliability of applications.
- Manage Linux-based production environments including Nginx, Logrotate, and server optimization.
- Ensure adherence to DevOps and SRE best practices.
Business & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
- Provide regular updates on engineering progress, risks, timelines, and delivery metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and team productivity.
Required Skills & Expertise
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in either .NET or Golang development.
- Hands-on experience with Python.
- Deep understanding of AI/Agentic First development ecosystems.
- Experience with MCP, Cursor, Windsurf, and AI-assisted coding workflows.
- Strong knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Expertise in Linux environments, Nginx, Logrotate, and production support.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of database scaling, normalization, indexing, and optimization.
- Experience in Data Analysis and engineering analytics.

- Strong exposure to:

- Order Management Systems (OMS)

Management & Delivery Skills
- Experience managing engineering teams and leading large-scale projects.
