Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Track Engineer to lead the design and delivery of track and ground systems for major rail infrastructure projects in the United States. The role involves developing detailed engineering designs, ensuring compliance with U.S. rail standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design of track alignment, geometry, and ground systems for rail projects, including mainline, yard, and station areas.
• Prepare and review track layout plans, profiles, and cross-sections using industry-standard software (e.g., Bentley OpenRail, Civil 3D).
• Conduct track design calculations, including curve design, superelevation, and turnout layouts.
• Ensure compliance with AREMA, FRA, and other U.S. rail standards.
• Perform site assessments, geotechnical coordination, and integrate ground design requirements into track solutions.
• Review and validate construction drawings, specifications, and material requirements.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and systems teams to ensure design integration and constructability.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in track and ground design for rail or transit projects.
o Proven experience with U.S. rail standards and design codes.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Bentley OpenRail, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related design tools.
o Strong understanding of track geometry, alignment design, and geotechnical principles.
• Other Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.
Preferred Certifications
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S.
• AREMA membership or certification.
