Description
Role Title: Senior Engineer - Technology Services
Role Summary
The Engineer – Application Engineering Support (AES) is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of Envestnet’s production wealth management platforms. The role provides Level‑2 application support, working in close collaboration with frontline support, development, infrastructure, and release management teams to investigate and resolve incidents, support production releases, and maintain uninterrupted business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level‑2 application support for assigned business‑critical platforms and services.
- Monitor production applications and supporting services, proactively respond to alerts, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform initial technical analysis, issue triage, and impact assessment for production incidents.
- Support and monitor scheduled batch jobs, exporters, interfaces, and other daily operational activities.
- Assist with production release activities, including pre‑deployment checks, deployment execution (as applicable), and post‑release validation.
- Document incidents, service requests, workarounds, and resolutions in line with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Escalate issues to Level‑3 / engineering teams with clear technical detail and context to facilitate efficient resolution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and supporting the implementation of preventive measures.
Experience & Skills
- 2 year of experience in application support, production support, or a related technology operations role.
Technical Skills (Required)
- Basic to intermediate troubleshooting skills in production or customer‑facing environments.
- Proficiency in Java for understanding application behavior, analyzing issues, and supporting defect analysis.
- Strong SQL fundamentals and experience performing database queries for analysis and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of batch processing concepts, schedulers, and application monitoring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret application logs to support incident investigation.
Additional / Advantageous Skills
- Experience using Jira for incident, request, and change tracking.
- Experience using Confluence for documentation and knowledge management.
- Exposure to ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments
