Job Purpose
We provide a full offering of wellhead systems with purpose-designed tooling and exclusive installation, monitoring, and engineering services for best-in-class field support.
We offer subsea drilling expertise dedicated to maximizing production and equipment output while reducing installation time, costs, and risks.
SDS has a dedicated service line management team with a global focus on standard engineering, supply chain and project management processes.
Job Description
Works in a small team to develop new products and industrialize existing equipment for the subsea drilling product line
Defines the attributes, requirements, and specifications for new products
Engages with the entire value stream to ensure effective cost, manufacturing, and operation
Performs hand-calculations and minimal FEA to support design work
Presents to customers and multi-disciplined audiences
Creates prototypes of new products throughout the design process and evolution
Quickly identifies problems throughout execution. Asks for help from sponsors whenever struggles and unresolved problems stall the development
Regularly checks in with supervisor to discuss project status and decisions.
Works independently on standard projects as a reference and participates in more complex projects under supervision of more senior engineers
Tracks spend, budget, and forecasted costs for personal projects
Maintains a personal schedule of projects and communicates updates with key stakeholders
Executes prototyping and final qualification testing in a shop/lab environment
Reports directly to the Subsea Drilling Services Value Stream NPD/PLM Group Leader
You Are Meant For This Job If
B.Tech / BE Degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable discipline, with at least six (6) years of related experience, preferred
Focus on detailed mechanical design and qualification work (i.e., subsea running tools, pressure vessels, and metal and elastomer seals) with a sound understanding of engineering practices, design methods & calculations
General understanding of economic factors (cost, profit, impact of decisions) affecting product developments along with knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, qualification, and test processes
Able to read, interpret and prepare technical designs and documentation
Able to work with a global team to solve and implement complex solutions into an existing product line
Knowledge of API 6A/17D, preferred
Able to meet deadlines and manage priorities
Must have presentation and coaching skills
Must be customer service oriented
Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a team setting
