Job Description
WESCO is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (Kubernetes). In this role you will perform Design, development and operational tasks to maintain Kubernetes environments. You will work with developers, architects, and app teams, facilitating operations, development, and testing functions by continuously automating and streamlining the system integration and deployment processes.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Kubernetes Life-Cycle management.
- Design, implement and document production grade Kubernetes cluster with HADR.
- Docker/Kubernetes deployment, configuration, scaling and management of containerized applications.
- Working with tools surrounding the Kubernetes ecosystem such as helm, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana etc.
- Security Remediation process for Kubernetes (vulnerability assessment and patch management)
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Strong technical analytical and troubleshooting skills and possess an ability to explain technical concepts and provide guidance to staff.
- Proficient to expert scripting and automation skills converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.
- Ability to operate in complex, highly secure, and highly available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Coaching other members of the support team, sharing technical and customer knowledge in a helpful and timely fashion
- Responsible for adherence of established ITIL practice such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management
- Build, deploy, and source code maintenance of new versions of applications in the cloud hosting environment
- Prepare and present technical presentations and system process documentation
Qualification
- 7+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Licenses/Certificates/Designations in Terraform, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) preferred
- Working knowledge on Python, Ansible, Terraform and YAML packages
- Must have Strong Knowledge & experience in any one major Kubernetes platform(AKS,GKE,OKE).
- Any one major cloud provides the experience required. (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience of configuring Kubernetes multi-region HADR solutions.
- Experience designing, configuring, and deploying applications on Kubernetes.
- Experience of any KSPM(Kubernetes Security posture Management) platform.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies and services such as Compute, Storage, Databases, API Management, Azure Logic Apps,Azure Functions
- Knowledge of designing and building fully automated DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts and implementation with Terraform
- Experience implementing Policy-as-Code and event driven security in cloud environment
- Experience using automation servers like Jenkins, Docker.
- Experience writing scripts to automate mundane tasks
- Understanding of complex applications, micro-services, and serverless use cases
- Ability to define Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using JSON or YAML and understand designing incremental promotion across environments
- Strong understanding of Python/ Bash/PowerShell scripting
- A working understanding of enterprise networking concepts like CIDR
- Code, deploy, and support large scale enterprise-grade architecture
