Position Summary
The Cybersecurity Software Lead will join our Software organization to
design and implement the cybersecurity features our In Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite. The candidate must be a proficient
technical leader and have extensive knowledge of cybersecurity of software systems that utilize
Android and/or Linux platforms, multi-layered,
client-server technologies. Experience in developing complex
Java and C/C++ applications on the Android and Linux platform is required. Experience in following cybersecurity features is required: Firewall, Antivirus, Key management, Encryption, SELinux. Candidate must also possess excellent communication skills that will help in the job of leading, and facilitating discussions between stakeholders. The Cybersecurity Software Specialist also has software development responsibilities for
prototyping new features. The Cybersecurity Software Specialist will work with SW Architects, SW development teams and system teams.
Essential Functions / Key Areas Of Responsibility
The Cybersecurity Software Specialist will provide his technical expertise, guidance, oversight and drive the following:
Drive software architecture Cybersecurity aspects for the IFEC product lines Lead the design of the Cybersecurity features Responsible for Writing the Cybersecurity use cases (user stories), and allocate them to the functional components as necessary Lead the definition of interfaces/APIs between software components Provide the technical expertise and communicate on cybersecurity effectively to other engineers and management via presentations, architecture documents/diagrams, and software requirements Select COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) and OSS (Open Source Software) for cybersecurity features Assess vulnerabilities of existing COTS and OSS and propose needed updates Analyze existing designs, define and implement security improvements to the existing IFEC designs Must be able to create proof-of-concepts as necessary to demonstrate new ideas/technologies and architectural concepts Participate in detailed design and code reviews for compliance with the defined secured software architecture Ensure the software implementation is in line with the proposed software architecture and recommended design patterns Partner Product and Program Management teams to define and estimate the work scope of new projects and cybersecurity features Responsible for providing technical leadership to junior software engineers in the areas of software design and implementation
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
Required Education and Experience:
- Area of study: Computer Science
- Master degree in field with minimum 6 years of experience
- 6+ years of cybersecurity software development experience
OR
- Bachelor degree in field with minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in IFE
- 6+ years of cybersecurity software development experience
Skills:
- Expertise in cybersecurity features like Firewall, certificates/key/authentication management, SELinux, Antivirus
- Fluent in Java, C, C++, shell scripting, networking protocols, audio & video distribution, and database management
- Expertise in Android Framework/Internals
- Experience with the Linux operating system and SELinux
- Experience in software design and development of Android and/or Linux-based systems following an industrial process
- Knowledge of the Scrum development process and Continuous Integration practices and tools (e.g. Jenkins, Sonar, GIT, BitBucket, JIRA)
- Very good knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, code review, testing, and release
- Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with IFEC systems is a plus
