About The Job
We are looking for a dynamic R&D Engineer to drive innovation in air conditioning systems through design, simulation, and testing. The role involves developing high-performance solutions using core thermal engineering principles and supporting new product development from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research of emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies relevant to air conditioning systems.
- Apply core engineering principles in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics to conceptualize and design novel components and systems for air conditioning products.
- Develop and build proof-of-concept prototypes, setting up and conducting laboratory testing to validate new designs and assess performance
- Analyze collected data using statistical approaches to identify areas for improvement and guide design iterations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, product development, manufacturing, and product management teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability (DFM), and successful transition from innovation to production.
- Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by providing engineering insight and technical solutions for new product development
- Perform DFMEA, execute test plans, failure mode analysis, and engineering builds/testing.
- Develop intellectual property for the organization through patentable solutions, actively contribute to external engagement such as technical paper presentation in internal and external forums.
Requirements
Good understanding of the basic of engineering, thermal engineering, thermodynamic cycles, Heat transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Air conditioning etc.
- Good understanding of the basic of engineering, thermal engineering, thermodynamic cycles, Heat transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Air conditioning etc.
- Experience in Air conditioning products including selection of various refrigeration components, heat exchanger design, Compressor, refrigerant controls
- Exposure to thermal analysis using simulation tools to predict performance of air conditioner product & components.
- Experience in product design, development process/phases & test plan development.
- Exposure to prototype/engineering builds & testing.
- Knowledge of Design processes like DOE, DFMEA, DFM/DFA/DFS, RCCA etc.
- Ability to develop and execute simulation models for performance optimization, design verification, and risk mitigation.
- Master’s Degree in Thermal/ Fluid Mechanics Engineering from IITs/NITs
- Minimum 2 years in Air Conditioning RAC/Ducted/Cassette product development.
