Role Description
The Senior Embedded Technical Lead at Akhila Labs will oversee and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of embedded systems and firmware solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading a team of engineers, developing and reviewing firmware, designing and optimizing board support packages (BSPs), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration. The role will also involve setting technical direction, conducting code reviews, and managing project timelines. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Ahmedabad, with the flexibility to work partially from home.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Embedded Systems, including expertise in Board Support Packages (BSP), Linux kernel development, and real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS or Zephyr
- Proficiency in Hardware Design, specifically high-speed PCB design, layout optimization, and ensuring design for manufacturability
- Deep understanding of IoT and Edge AI technologies, including deployment of machine learning models on low-power edge devices and building scalable cloud architectures
- Demonstrated ability in system-level debugging, performance optimization, and pre- and post-silicon validation
- Strong skills in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and familiarity with modern software development practices including CI/CD and DevOps
- Ability to lead and mentor a technical engineering team, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field is required
- Experience in industries such as automotive, healthcare, industrial automation, or consumer electronics is a plus
- Knowledge of functional safety standards like ISO 26262 or experience in FDA-compliant firmware development is highly desirable
