Job details:
Company Description Kernel Foundation – Master Linux Kernel & LDD specializes in Linux kernel and device driver bug fixing services for companies, with engineers contributing directly to open source projects across drivers, memory and process management, file systems, and networking subsystems. The organization is deeply involved in triaging and resolving real-world issues reported on platforms like Bugzilla, giving team members exposure to complex, production-grade kernel challenges. Kernel Foundation also delivers advanced, instructor-led courses that help experienced professionals master Linux system programming, kernel internals, device drivers, network programming, and kernel debugging. Team members collaborate with top-tier experts, work with cutting-edge tools such as GDB, eBPF, and JTAG/OpenOCD, and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of embedded and networking environments.
Role Description As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain embedded software and Linux-based solutions for kernel and device driver projects. In this full-time hybrid role based in Bengaluru, you will work both onsite and remotely, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features, optimize performance, and ensure reliability across embedded platforms. Typical responsibilities include writing and reviewing high-quality C/C++ code, integrating and testing device drivers, debugging complex kernel and user-space issues, and contributing to open source initiatives where applicable. You will analyze system-level behavior, perform root-cause analysis of defects, and work closely with hardware, firmware, and kernel engineers to deliver robust end-to-end solutions. You may also support internal technical training efforts by sharing best practices and mentoring less experienced engineers.
