Job Description : Senior Embedded Engineer
Full-Time | On-Site | Drone Technology
DepartmentExperienceLocationPostedElectronics & Systems5+ YearsPanchkula, HaryanaMay 2026About Aebocode
Aebocode is a next-generation drone technology company dedicated to building cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for industrial, agricultural, surveillance, and logistics applications. We design, develop, and manufacture end-to-end drone solutions — from custom hardware and flight controllers to ground station software. Our team thrives on innovation, precision engineering, and the drive to push the boundaries of autonomous flight.
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Embedded Engineer to lead and manage all electronics engineering functions within Aebocode. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of drone electronics — from schematic capture and PCB design to firmware development and field validation. You will work closely with mechanical, software, and flight operations teams to deliver reliable, high-performance drone systems. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role ideal for someone passionate about building real hardware that flies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, layout, and review multi-layer PCBs for drone flight controllers, ESCs, power management boards, and communication modules using tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
- Develop, test, and maintain firmware for STM32 microcontrollers (HAL/LL/bare-metal) and ESP32 modules for onboard processing, sensor fusion, and wireless communication.
- Implement and integrate LoRa-based long-range communication protocols for telemetry and command links between drones and ground stations.
- Design and integrate radio communication subsystems including RC receivers, telemetry radios (433 MHz, 915 MHz, 2.4 GHz), and RF front-ends.
- Interface and integrate sensors including IMUs, GPS/GNSS modules, barometers, magnetometers, optical flow, LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors.
- Develop and optimize RTOS-based firmware (FreeRTOS) for real-time flight-critical tasks including motor control, attitude estimation, and sensor data acquisition.
- Perform hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, and signal analysis using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Collaborate with the flight software team to integrate ArduPilot, PX4, or custom autopilot stacks into the hardware platform.
- Define and enforce Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) guidelines across all PCB and electronics development.
- Maintain complete technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, firmware version history, and hardware test reports.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and contribute to building a culture of technical excellence.
- Support field testing and debugging during drone test flights, and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a closely related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware and firmware engineering, with a strong focus on PCB design and microcontroller-based systems.
- Strong proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred; KiCad or Eagle acceptable).
- Deep expertise in the STM32 microcontroller family — including STM32F4, STM32H7, and STM32G4 — using both HAL and bare-metal register-level programming.
- Hands-on experience with ESP32 / ESP8266 for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication in embedded IoT applications.
- Practical experience designing and deploying LoRa / LoRaWAN communication links for long-range telemetry systems.
- Solid understanding of RF communication fundamentals, antenna design, and wireless protocol stacks (433 MHz, 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz).
- Proficiency in C and Embedded C, with working knowledge of C++ for firmware development.
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems, particularly FreeRTOS.
- Experience with communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, PWM, SBUS, and MAVLink.
- Knowledge of power electronics including LiPo battery management systems, DC-DC converters, and motor driver circuits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with drone/UAV hardware development including flight controllers, ESCs, and power distribution boards.
- Familiarity with ArduPilot and PX4 open-source autopilot ecosystems.
- Experience with DGCA regulations and certification processes for UAV systems in India.
- Knowledge of GNSS/GPS integration and RTK positioning systems.
- Exposure to computer vision hardware integration such as Raspberry Pi CM and NVIDIA Jetson.
- Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC design practices for avionics-grade boards.
- Understanding of flight dynamics, attitude control systems, and PID tuning fundamentals.
What We’re Looking For in You
- A strong team player who collaborates openly, shares knowledge, and supports fellow engineers.
- Self-driven and ownership-oriented, capable of taking a problem from concept to flight-ready execution with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on precision in both hardware and firmware development.
- An effective communicator who can explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Field-ready and comfortable attending drone test sessions, troubleshooting issues, and iterating rapidly based on real-world performance.
- Resilient and adaptable, treating every failed test as an opportunity to learn and improve.
