Job details:
The Senior Embedded Engineer in embedded power electronics is responsible for managing motor performance, including speed, torque, and position. This involves power conversion, motor protection, and feedback integration using sensors. The role requires developing algorithms for efficient motor control, ensuring safety, energy efficiency, and fault detection.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong experience in BLDC motor driver design, including Trapezoidal and Field-Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms.
- Proficient in Embedded C/C++ for real-time motor control applications on MCUs (TI C2000, STM32, NXP, etc.).
- Ability to design and implement current, speed, and position control loops, motor startup routines, fault handling, and motor tuning/optimization algorithms.
- Hands-on experience in designing motor driver PCBs, including power stages, gate drivers, current sensing, protection circuits, power supplies, and communication interfaces.
- Ability to create schematics and perform layout reviews with focus on power integrity, signal integrity, grounding, thermal management, and high-current routing.
- Strong experience in designing for EMC, ESD, EFT, Surge, and conducted/radiated emissions/immunity requirements.
- Strong understanding of MOSFETs, gate drivers, DC-DC converters, current sensing, and motor power stage design.
- Familiarity with pre-compliance and certification testing to standards such as IEC 61000, CISPR, CE, UL.
- Skilled in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, debuggers, and other lab equipment for hardware and firmware troubleshooting.
- Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485, Ethernet and other industrial communication interfaces.
- Proficiency with Mentor graphics PADS or equivalent EDA tools.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Power Electronics Circuits: Design, develop, and optimize power electronics circuits and PCBs, including DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, and motor driver circuits, with a focus on high performance, efficient, reliable, and manufacturable power conversion and motor control systems.
- End-to-End Product Development: Take ownership of product development from concept to completion, ensuring successful design, testing, and implementation of power electronics products. Should have made 1 product end to end and has stayed in a company for ~3 years & should have released at least 2 products in market.
- Compliance and Testing: Ensure product compliance with EMI/EMC, EFT, Surge, CS, CE, RS, RE standards by performing thorough testing and mitigating potential interference issues. 4 Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with software, hardware, and testing teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality product delivery.
