Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Electrical Engineer role based in Chennai. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead and oversee electrical design, installation, testing, and maintenance activities related to VCBs, transformers, and associated power distribution systems. Daily responsibilities include reviewing technical specifications, preparing and validating electrical designs, supervising field teams during erection, testing, and repair work, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves diagnosing complex electrical issues, recommending corrective actions, coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders, and preparing technical reports and documentation. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also support process improvements, mentor junior engineers and technicians, and help maintain high service quality across projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with practical knowledge of electricity and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to design and review Electrical Design for transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
- Hands-on experience in Power Distribution, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance in industrial or utility settings.
- Expertise in Power Systems analysis, fault diagnosis, and performance optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience in high-voltage equipment, transformer testing, and VCB maintenance is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in relevant electrical design and analysis tools, and familiarity with applicable standards and codes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to lead and mentor technical teams on-site.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
