Job Overview:
We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer with 5–6 years of professional experience to lead the design, installation, and optimization of electrical systems for our pharmaceutical cleanroom manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for power distribution, electrical safety, equipment integration, and ensuring all electrical systems operate in strict compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between heavy power infrastructure and high-speed manufacturing automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Infrastructure Design: Design and specify low-to-medium voltage power distribution networks, lighting, grounding, and emergency backup power systems UPS/Generators.
- Equipment Integration: Collaborate with mechanical and automation teams to integrate power and control wiring for pharmaceutical processing and packaging machinery.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical installations strictly comply with NEC, NFPA 70E Arc Flash safety, IEEE, and cGMP regulatory standards.
- Validation Support: Author, review, and execute electrical portions of Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation protocols IQ/OQ/PQ.
- System Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex electrical faults, power quality issues, and control circuit anomalies in production areas.
- Project Management: Manage electrical contractors and vendors during facility upgrades, shutdowns, and capital expenditure CapEx installation projects.
- Documentation & CAD: Develop and maintain accurate single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, panel schedules, and load calculations using AutoCAD Electrical.
- HVAC Electrical & Utility Support: Coordinate with HVAC and mechanical teams for the design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems serving AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, exhaust systems, ventilation systems, and cleanroom HVAC equipment. Ensure reliable electrical power and control integration for HVAC systems, including MCCs, VFDs, starters, control panels, sensors, actuators, interlocks, and BMS interfaces.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 5–6 years of engineering experience, ideally within a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or high-tech manufacturing facility.
- Technical Software: High proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and electrical simulation software e.g., ETAP, SKM for load flow and arc flash analysis.
- Pharma Knowledge: Strong familiarity with cleanroom electrical design requirements seals, washdown-rated enclosures, and hazardous area classifications like Class I, Div 1/2.
- Control Systems: Good baseline understanding of control panel design, motor control centers MCCs, Variable Frequency Drives VFDs, and PLC wiring interfaces.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to manage external contractors and clearly present technical updates to plant leadership.
- HVAC Knowledge: Practical experience with electrical systems associated with pharmaceutical HVAC and cleanroom systems, including AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, exhaust/ventilation systems, VFDs, MCCs, and HVAC control panels. Good understanding of cleanroom HVAC principles, including temperature and humidity control, air changes, pressure differentials, airflow requirements, and HEPA filtration systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience managing electrical utility shutdowns and startup scheduling.
