We’re Hiring | Senior Electrical Design Engineer Experience: 4–6 Years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in industrial automation and control systems. The role involves leading electrical design activities, developing control & data flows, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of automation control systems
- Develop control flow and data flow architecture for projects/products
- Design electrical schematics, control panel layouts, MCC/PCC/PMCC panels
- Create network architecture for PLC-based automation systems
- Select and specify PLC, VFD, Servo Drives, HMI, Scanning Systems & Switchgears
- Prepare:
- Operation & Maintenance Manuals
- HMI User Guides
- Troubleshooting Manuals
- Generate:
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- I/O Lists
- Project datasheets for actuators & sensors
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Coordinate with Stores & Purchase teams to optimize inventory usage
- Develop standardized component lists to minimize inventory cost
- Ensure timely ISO documentation updates
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Controls, Software & Manufacturing teams
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best design practices
Required Skills & Competencies- Strong expertise in electrical schematics & automation system design
- Hands-on experience with:
- PLC, VFD, Servo systems
- Scanning & sensing systems
- Knowledge of PCC, MCC & PMCC panel working principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & EPLAN (minimum 3 years)
- Software skills: Excel, Word, Flowcharts, Jira
- Solid understanding of project execution planning & milestone tracking
- Strong problem-solving, analytical & communication skills
- Experience with project management tools & methodologies
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)- Design Accuracy: ≥95% compliance with specifications & standards
- Error-Free Designs: ≥99% accuracy with minimal revisions
- Design Reuse: ≥30% reuse of standardized designs
- Design Quality Rating: ≥4.8/5 from peers & supervisors
- CAD Proficiency: Advanced AutoCAD skills; working knowledge of EPLAN
- Leadership & Mentorship: Effective guidance to junior engineers
- Knowledge Sharing: Conduct training sessions & technical workshops
- Collaboration: Strong team coordination & communication
Authority & Ownership- Lead automation design and implementation efforts
- Own project documentation, manuals & technical deliverables
