Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The primary responsibilities include designing and developing electrical systems, working on power distribution networks, and creating efficient energy solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting feasibility studies, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The engineer will also contribute to project planning, documentation, and implementation of advanced electrical design projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· System Design & Architecture: Develop and simulate high-voltage DC circuits, battery rack architectures, and PDU layouts, including contactors, fuses, and sensors.
· Component Specification: Select components (cells, busbars, connectors, fuses) to meet voltage, current, and thermal requirements.
· Documentation: Create Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring schematics, and Bill of Materials (BoM).
· Validation & Testing: Build and test prototypes, performing validation (e.g., creepage/clearance, dielectric strength).
· Compliance: Ensure designs meet industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL, NEC).
· Root Cause Analysis: Perform FMEA and troubleshoot electrical failures in battery management systems (BMS)
· Ensure Adherence to APQP, IATF 16949, ISO 26262/ASIL Standards, AIS 048/156 Part 2
· Serves as primary customer & OEM interface for program updates & escalations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ year experience with HV DC systems, battery systems (BESS or EVs), or power electronics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, Ansys) and CAD software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of HV DC circuits, inverter integration, and BMS communication.
- Familiarity with automotive or utility-scale grid standards.
- Experience in renewable energy or energy storage solutions is a plus
