Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in Kolkata. The individual will lead and deliver electrical design solutions for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects, including concept, basic, and detailed engineering. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, load calculations, power distribution schemes, and equipment specifications in alignment with applicable codes and standards. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors to resolve technical issues, optimize designs for safety, reliability, and cost efficiency, and support bid documentation and technical evaluations. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will also participate in site visits, design validation, and quality assurance activities, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and comprehensive understanding of Electricity fundamentals and applications.
- Proven expertise in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience with Power Distribution systems, including LV/MV distribution, protection schemes, and system coordination.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience (typically 8+ years) in consulting or EPC/EPCM environments, with a track record of leading electrical design packages.
- Proficiency in relevant design and calculation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD tools, electrical load analysis and short-circuit software).
- Knowledge of national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, IS standards) and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
