Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive electrical schematics, control panel designs, and technical documentation. While experience in the crane and material handling industry is highly preferred, we welcome candidates with a strong background in industrial automation and heavy machinery design.
The ideal candidate is an expert in CAD & EPLAN and has a deep understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and their integration into complex electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Drafting: Design and develop detailed electrical circuit diagrams, wiring plans, and layouts using EPLAN and CAD
System Design: Create control architectures involving VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), PLCs, and soft starters, ensuring precise motor control and energy efficiency.
Component Selection: Select and specify electrical components such as switchgear, circuit breakers, contactors, and cable sizing based on load calculations.
Technical Documentation: Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), terminal diagrams, and cable schedules.
Industry Standards: Ensure all designs comply with international electrical standards (such as IEC or NEC) and safety regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing and assembly teams to troubleshoot wiring issues and provide technical support during the panel-building phase.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Software Expertise: Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is mandatory and Knowlegde and experience in EPlan is plus
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial electrical design, specifically regarding control panels and power distribution.
Drive Integration: Proven experience in configuring and integrating VFDs for industrial applications.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, EEE, or a related field.
Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry Experience: Previous experience designing electrical systems for overhead cranes, hoists, or heavy-lift equipment.
Automation: Familiarity with PLC hardware integration and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profinet).
Content Creation: Experience in developing electrical-oriented content, such as design manuals, technical specifications, or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
