Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Buildings (BIM)
Gurugram, India | Full-Time | Work From Office
About the Role
We are looking for a strong Electrical Design Engineer with solid experience in residential and commercial building projects, along with hands-on exposure to Revit-based BIM workflows.
This role is ideal for engineers with strong design fundamentals, multidisciplinary coordination experience, and an interest in modern engineering workflows and digital delivery systems.
You will work closely with architecture, structure, MEP, and digital engineering teams on complex building projects within a fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems for residential and commercial buildings
• Perform electrical load calculations, system sizing, and coordinated design development
• Prepare and review electrical layouts, SLDs, technical drawings, schedules, and documentation
• Develop and manage electrical BIM models using Revit
• Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and BIM teams
• Participate in clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination workflows
• Support high-quality project delivery across all design stages
• Contribute toward improving digital engineering and BIM-based workflows
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tier-1 / Tier-2 engineering institutes preferred
• 6–15 years of experience in electrical design for building projects
• Strong experience in residential and commercial building electrical systems
• Hands-on experience with Revit for electrical design and BIM workflows
• Strong understanding of power systems, lighting systems, and low-voltage systems
• Experience working on multidisciplinary building projects
• Strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving capability
• Ability to work effectively in high-ownership, fast-paced environments
Good to Have
• Exposure to U.S. or international building projects
• Familiarity with NEC / NFPA standards
• Experience with Navisworks, BIM360, or ACC
• Exposure to Dynamo or automation-enabled workflows
• Experience in high-rise or large-scale building projects
Not a Fit For
• Pure BIM coordinators/modelers without core electrical design experience
• Infra/substation-focused electrical engineers
• Candidates without building project exposure
