Role Summary
We’re not looking for just a video editor or just a designer.
We’re hiring a performance-first creative editor who can edit + design to turn raw footage and ideas into high-performing creatives across:
- Social media
- Paid ads
- Amazon / marketplace
Your mandate is simple:
Create content that stops scroll, holds attention, and drives conversion.
You will work closely with:
- Social Media Manager
- Videographer
- Growth & Performance Team
- Copywriters
- Designers
What You Will Own (KRAs)
1. High-Performance Video Editing (Core Ownership)
- Edit:
- Reels / Shorts
- UGC content
- Ad creatives
- Product demos
- Focus on:
- First 3-second hook
- Pacing & retention
- Clear messaging
You are responsible for:
“Does this video stop scroll and hold attention?”
2. Multi-Platform Creative Adaptation
- Adapt content for:
- Social media (Instagram, YouTube Shorts)
- Paid ads (Meta, Google, YouTube)
- Amazon (product videos, A+ content)
You are responsible for:
“Does this creative work in its platform context?”
3. Design + Visual Layer Integration
- Design:
- Thumbnails
- Text overlays
- Static creatives
- Amazon visuals
- Ensure:
- Clean layout
- High readability
- Premium feel
You are responsible for:
“Does this look credible and high-quality?”
4. Creative Variation Engine
- Create:
- Multiple variations from the same footage
- Different hooks, cuts, and formats
You are responsible for:
“How many testable creatives can we generate?”
5. Amazon Creative Optimization
- Edit and design:
- Product videos
- A+ content visuals
- Feature highlights
You are responsible for:
“Does this improve conversion on Amazon?”
6. Performance-Driven Iteration (Critical)
- Work with Growth team to:
- Analyze performance data
- Identify winning edits
- Translate insights into:
- Better edits
- Faster iterations
You are responsible for:
“How do our creatives improve every week?”
7. Cross-Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with:
- Copywriters (scripts → execution)
- Videographers (footage → output)
- Designers (visual consistency)
KPIs (How You’ll Be Measured)
Core Metrics
Watch Time / Retention Rate - % of viewers watching till end
Hook Effectiveness (First 3 Seconds) CTR (Click Through Rate) - Target: +15–30% improvement via edits
Conversion Rate Contribution (CVR) - Impact on:
- Landing pages
- Amazon listings
Creative Output Velocity - Target: 20–40 edited pieces/week
Variation Output Turnaround Time (TAT) - Fast turnaround from raw footage to final output
Platform Adaptation Quality What “Good” Looks Like
- Edits feel:
- Designs are:
- Thinks in:
- Can clearly answer:
“Why did this edit perform?”
What We Don’t Want
- Cinematic-only editors
- Designers who don’t understand video
- Editors who ignore performance data
- Slow, perfection-over-speed workflows
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in:
- Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro
- After Effects
- Canva / Photoshop / Figma
- Proven experience with:
- UGC-style editing
- D2C content
- Short-form video
Bonus (Nice to Have)
- Experience in:
- Health / Wellness category
- Understanding of:
- Amazon marketplace creatives
- Basic knowledge of:
