Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman specializing in railway and infrastructure, focusing on Right-of-way (RoW), Track FLS, bridge, Railway Station & Yard design & related detailed CAD drawing preparation. The role involves producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, coordinating with the client for change management, acceptances/approvals and supporting design teams in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibility
- Experience in FLS, Gradient Verification, L-section drawings, both existing and proposed (as per IRICE/RDSO/Railway Construction Manual)
- Prepare detailed design drawings for railway bridges and related structures.
- Convert engineering concepts and calculations into precise CAD drawings and construction-ready documents.
- Ensure drawings comply with IRC, IS codes, and Railway standards.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and project managers to finalize designs.
- Maintain version control and documentation of all drawings for audit and compliance.
- Review and update drawings based on site conditions, design changes, and client requirements.
- Support tender documentation and provide drawing inputs for BOQ preparation.
- Train and guide junior draughtsman in best practices and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma/ITI in Civil Engineering/Draughtsmanship (or equivalent).
- 8+ years of experience in drafting for railway projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, or similar CAD tools.
- Strong knowledge of structural detailing, reinforcement drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital drawing management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret engineering calculations and translate them into accurate drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
