Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Detailer – AutoCAD with strong knowledge of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and structural steel detailing.
The candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating accurate GA drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, Anchor Bolt (AB) drawings, and production BOQs based on approved designs. The role requires excellent drafting accuracy, technical understanding, revision control, cross-functional coordination, and timely delivery of drawings to support manufacturing and project execution.
Key Responsibilities / KRAs
1. Design Input Review
Review approved design inputs, engineering information, customer requirements, and project specifications. Identify and clarify any missing, incomplete, or conflicting information before commencing detailing activities.
2. Preparation of Engineering Drawings & BOQs
Prepare accurate and detailed General Arrangement (GA), fabrication, erection, and Anchor Bolt (AB) drawings, along with production BOQs, in accordance with approved structural designs and project requirements.
3. Drawing & BOQ Accuracy
Perform thorough self-checking of drawings, dimensions, connections, member details, material specifications, quantities, and BOQs to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission for review.
4. Standards & Specification Compliance
Ensure all detailing work complies with approved design standards, customer specifications, project requirements, company drafting procedures, and applicable engineering practices.
5. Review Comments & Revisions
Incorporate comments received from design/checking engineers and other stakeholders accurately and promptly. Release revised drawings within committed project timelines.
6. Revision Control & Documentation
Maintain proper revision control, drawing registers, BOQ records, engineering documentation, and related project records to ensure traceability and prevent the use of superseded drawings.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate effectively with design engineers, checking engineers, production, fabrication, project, erection, and other concerned teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve detailing-related issues.
8. Timely Drawing Release
Ensure timely preparation and release of fabrication and erection drawings to support production planning, manufacturing, dispatch, erection, and overall project schedules.
9. QMS & Departmental Compliance
Follow departmental procedures, Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, drafting standards, document-control processes, and established engineering workflows.
10. Continuous Improvement
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance detailing practices, drawing standardization, accuracy, productivity, coordination, and overall engineering efficiency.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of PEB and structural steel detailing
- Preparation of GA, fabrication, erection and Anchor Bolt drawings
- Production BOQ preparation and quantity understanding
- Understanding of structural steel members, connections and detailing practices
- Ability to interpret structural designs and engineering inputs
- Excellent drawing reading and visualization skills
- Strong understanding of fabrication and erection requirements
- Drawing checking and error-identification skills
- Revision control and engineering documentation
- Knowledge of drafting standards and QMS procedures

Candidate Requirements
- Relevant Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Relevant professional experience in PEB / structural steel detailing
- Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD
- Practical experience preparing GA, fabrication, erection and Anchor Bolt drawings
- Experience preparing or coordinating production BOQs
- Good understanding of the complete workflow from design → detailing → fabrication → erection
- Previous experience with a PEB manufacturer, structural steel company, engineering organization, or industrial construction company will be strongly preferred
- Ability to independently manage assigned detailing activities while coordinating effectively with engineering and production teams
