Our product range includes floating, trunnion-mounted, metal-seated, and specialty valves. As we expand operations, we're looking for a technically skilled and grounded Design Engineer for the design team to support legacy products and NPD.

Role Summary
The Engineer – Design Engineering will be responsible for design and development alongside a small team of designers and draftsmen, ensuring quality and accuracy of valve design and documentation. This role requires hands on design creation using 3D and 2D software and ensuring product compliance with design standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Work alongside a team of design engineers/draftsmen in developing and revising ball valve designs and component drawings
• Provide day-to-day technical support to the manufacturing and assembly teams on the shop floor.
• Ensure all drawings and BOMs are accurate, updated, and aligned with product specifications.
• Create 2D drawings, 3D models, general assembly drawings and bill of materials using the available software tools and resources
• Participate in internal valve testing and support test setup and interpretation of results.
• Ensure compliance with design standards such as API 6D, ASME B16.34, ISO 5211, and customer-specific requirements
• Maintain document control and drawing release processes

Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
• 5-10 years of experience in valve or mechanical product design, preferably in a manufacturing setup.
• Hands-on experience with industrial ball valve design (floating/trunnion) is a strong advantage.
• Experience working with production and QA teams on valve testing is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Familiarity with engineering change processes, BOM management, and 2D/3D drafting practices.
• Understanding of machining tolerances, assembly fitments, and pressure-containing components.
• Knowledge of valve testing standards and design codes is beneficial.
Soft Skills:
• Good communication skills – able to coordinate with multiple departments.
• Leadership potential – capable of taking ownership of deliverables agreed
• Problem-solving mind-set with a strong focus on practical, workable solutions.
Software:
• Solidworks 3D modelling.
• AutoCAD 2D
• Prior experience of working with either SAP or Oracle based ERP
