Role Description The Senior Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Jabalpur. This position is responsible for leading and executing detailed engineering design across assigned disciplines, preparing and reviewing technical drawings, calculations, and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. The Senior Design Engineer will coordinate with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and external stakeholders to integrate design solutions, resolve technical issues, and support project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. Day-to-day activities include overseeing junior engineers, providing technical guidance, conducting design reviews, and contributing to quality assurance processes. The role also involves preparing technical documentation and reports, supporting tender and bidding processes when required, and promoting innovation and best practices in design.
Qualifications
- Strong engineering design skills in a relevant discipline (e.g., civil, structural, mechanical, electrical), with proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software.
- Ability to produce and review technical drawings, models, and specifications using CAD/BIM platforms and related design technologies.
- Solid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, and experience applying them to complex infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading design tasks, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities for working with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders on-site.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field); professional certification or licensure is an advantage.
- Prior experience in large-scale or international projects, and familiarity with digital engineering and innovative design methodologies, is highly beneficial.
