Role Description The Senior Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. This role is responsible for designing and developing bioprocess equipment and related systems, including preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation. The Senior Design Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into practical design solutions, ensures compliance with industry standards, and supports product optimization and cost-effectiveness. Daily tasks include reviewing designs for manufacturability, coordinating with production and quality teams, participating in design reviews, and providing technical support during installation and after-sales service. The role also involves continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting design issues, and mentoring junior engineers to uphold engineering best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical or process design skills, including proficiency in CAD software and creating detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience in designing equipment or systems for biotech, pharmaceutical, biofertilizer, or related process industries, with an understanding of relevant standards and regulations.
- Ability to analyze technical requirements, perform engineering calculations, and apply problem-solving methods to optimize product performance and reliability.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, quality, and service to ensure designs are practical, safe, and cost-effective.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing documentation, reports, and technical presentations, and for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Proven track record in continuous improvement, innovation, and implementing design changes based on customer feedback and field performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Several years of relevant engineering experience in equipment design or process engineering; experience in bioprocess equipment is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Mohali, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and uphold safety and quality standards.
