Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with 6–7 years of expertise in die casting design and product development, preferably in magnesium (AZ91D) and aluminum components. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end design, simulation coordination, and development of complex automotive components, ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost optimization.

 

Key Responsibilities

1.      Simulation & Validation

·        Work closely with simulation teams using MAGMASOFT or equivalent tools

·        Interpret simulation results (filling, solidification, porosity)

·        Implement design changes based on simulation feedback

·        Perform DFM and DFMEA

2.      Tooling & Die Design Coordination

·        Collaborate with tool design teams for gating, runner systems, and cooling layouts

·        Support trial runs and die corrections

3.      Customer & Cross-functional Interaction

·        Interface with customers, production teams, and quality teams

·        Participate in design reviews and technical discussions

4.      Cost & Optimization

·        Optimize design for weight reduction, cycle time, and yield improvement

5.      Documentation

·        Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and engineering change documents

Required Skills & Competencies

6.    Technical Skills

·        Strong knowledge of die casting processes (HPDC / Thixomolding preferred)

·        Experience with MAGMASOFT or similar simulation tools

·        Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA / NX / SolidWorks)

7.      Core Engineering Knowledge

·        GD&T, material behavior (Mg/Al alloys), and thermal/flow behavior in casting

8.      Soft Skills

·        Strong problem-solving and communication skills

·        Ability to manage multiple projects

 

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy with 6–7 years of relevant experience in die casting design

 

Preferred

Experience in automotive components and magnesium die casting

Knowledge of APQP / PPAP processes
