Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Battery Design Manager to join our growing Battery Energy Solutions team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) for cutting-edge applications such as Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector, grid services, hybrid microgrids, and utility-scale renewable integration. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create optimized, high-performance energy storage solutions that shape the future of clean energy.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Systems, or a closely related technical discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in battery energy storage system (BESS) design, power systems, or electrical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of battery modelling and optimization tools, with experience in hybrid systems (e.g., PV + AC/DC coupled storage).
- Proven ability to design SLDs and LDs for medium to low-voltage systems; high-voltage experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with load flow analysis, protection coordination, and selectivity in power distribution networks.
- Hands-on experience with project delivery from concept to implementation, including cross-functional coordination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of battery systems tailored to specific applications and site conditions, with a focus on technical feasibility, economic efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct in-depth feasibility studies for BESS performance optimization, evaluating trade-offs between cost, reliability, and energy yield.
- Customize storage configurations for use cases including black start capability, load following, peak shaving, microgrid support, and PV + storage hybrid plants.
- Utilize simulation tools to model and optimize plant operations and Energy Management Systems (EMS), supporting revenue forecasting and operational efficiency.
- Design communication and control systems, including drafting Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), communication topologies, and interface documentation.
