About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team at Integrated Wireless Solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting our Oracle and MS SQL Server databases across multiple environments. This role demands a proactive approach to maintaining database performance, security, and availability, ensuring that our critical business applications run smoothly and efficiently. The DBA will collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to implement best practices, optimize database performance, and support ongoing data migration and modernization initiatives. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to the company's technological growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in database administration, with a strong background in Oracle and MS SQL Server environments. Proven expertise in performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and monitoring tools such as OEM, AWR, ASH, and ADDM. Strong Linux/Unix skills coupled with shell scripting knowledge are highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Oracle and MS SQL Server databases across various environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
- Perform performance tuning through indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning to enhance system efficiency.
- Support data migration and modernization projects, ensuring seamless transition and minimal impact on business operations.
- Maintain database security, compliance, auditing, and access controls to protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate with DevOps, application developers, and infrastructure teams to align database strategies with organizational goals.
- Provide on-call support for critical incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal business impact.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices to continuously improve database management processes.
