Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in
Oracle Database Administration, performance tuning, backup & recovery, infrastructure support, and database operations across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing
Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and cloud-based database platforms in mission-critical production environments.
The role involves database administration, performance optimization, disaster recovery, capacity planning, DevOps support, cloud migration support, and ensuring compliance with security and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle database environments (11g/12c/18c/19c).
- Perform database administration activities including backup, recovery, cloning, patching, and refresh activities.
- Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning and process optimization.
- Support Oracle Exadata environments and ASM storage configurations.
- Manage RMAN backup and recovery operations.
- Support PostgreSQL and SQL Server database environments.
- Participate in database version upgrades, patching, and cloud migration activities.
- Provide operational support for Azure ecosystem services including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Fabric, and Azure Databricks.
- Maintain database security, compliance, and audit readiness including SOX/ICFR requirements.
- Perform capacity planning, monitoring, and performance analysis.
- Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts for automation and operational support.
- Support Dremio infrastructure and data engineering platform requirements.
- Work closely with onsite/offshore teams to provide 24/7 production support and incident management.
- Maintain operational documentation, DR procedures, and technical diagrams.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, technical upgrades, and DevOps initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience - 12+ years of IT experience with strong Database Administration expertise.
- 7+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience on Oracle 11g/12c/18c/19c.
- Strong experience in:
- Oracle RAC
- ASM Storage
- RMAN Backup & Recovery
- Oracle Exadata
- Performance Tuning
- Database Cloning & Refresh
- Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server administration.
- Hands-on Unix/Linux administration and Shell Scripting experience.
- Experience with Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
- Experience supporting production environments with ITIL processes.
- Exposure to Azure cloud services including:
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Fabric
- Azure Databricks
- Knowledge of SOX/ICFR compliance and security controls.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Knowledge of Dremio and modern data lake platforms.
- Experience in DevOps support and cloud migration initiatives.
- Exposure to enterprise financial systems and regulatory environments.
