Job Opening: Senior Database Administrator (DBA)
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing and optimizing large-scale database systems, particularly in AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Aurora databases on AWS RDS
- Design and implement high availability, disaster recovery, and cross-region replication strategies
- Perform database performance tuning and query optimization
- Handle schema changes and database change management pipelines
- Monitor database health and implement observability best practices
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability and scalability
- Work closely with engineering teams to improve database architecture
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in database administration
- Strong expertise in:
- MySQL Database Administration
- PostgreSQL Database Administration
- Amazon Aurora (MySQL/Postgres compatible)
- Deep understanding of:
- InnoDB internals
- PostgreSQL logical & streaming replication
- MySQL Binlog and GTID replication
- Proven experience in:
- Performance tuning & query optimization
- Disaster recovery planning & execution
- Cross-region database setups in AWS
- Database observability and monitoring tools
- Experience building and managing database change management pipelines
Good to Have
- Experience with Amazon Redshift
- Prior experience in the Fintech domain
