We are hiring Senior Data Quality Engineer
Location : Remote
As a Senior Data Quality Engineer, you will champion data integrity, API reliability, and backend quality across our next-generation cloud platforms. This is an automation-first, hands-on role where you will architect automated testing frameworks, validate distributed data flows, and build observability into every stage of our ETL/ELT pipelines.
What You’ll Do
- Build & Scale Automation Frameworks: Architect and maintain robust, scalable automation suites for APIs, backend services, and distributed cloud data platforms.
- Embed Pipeline Observability: Design continuous validation for ETL/ELT workflows using Python and PyTest, ensuring data accuracy, schema integrity, and automated reconciliation across big data pipelines.
- Drive 'Shift-Left' Quality: Partner directly with Data Engineers, Architects, and Product teams to bake testability and automated quality checks early into design and technical specifications.
- Integrate with CI/CD: Lead the seamless integration of data quality tests into modern continuous integration and delivery pipelines to enable fast, confident releases.
- Root Cause & Debugging: Perform deep-dive investigations into complex data anomalies, transformation discrepancies, and systemic issues across backend services and distributed logs.
- Elevate Engineering Standards: Mentor engineers on data testing strategies, backend automation best practices, and schema drift prevention.
Core Requirements
- 7+ years of backend quality automation experience with a focus on data validation, cloud data platforms, and distributed microservices.
- Advanced SQL Expertise: Deep fluency in writing complex queries, performing data reconciliation, and validating large-scale data warehouses and lakes.
- Strong Python Skills: Proven experience designing Python-based automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest) from the ground up.
- API & System Validation: Solid experience testing REST/gRPC APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- CI/CD & Cloud: Hands-on experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) on cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
