Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior ODI Consultant with strong Middleware awareness to lead end-to-end data migration and integration projects. While the core focus is on architecting and developing robust ETL/ELT solutions using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), you will also be responsible for orchestrating these jobs within the Oracle Fusion Middleware stack, specifically utilizing Oracle Enterprise Scheduler (OESS) for enterprise-grade execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. ODI Development & Data Migration
- Architecture & Design: Design and create complex ODI metadata objects including Mappings, Packages, Procedures, and Scenarios.
- Knowledge Modules: Develop and customize ODI Knowledge Modules (KMs) using substitution APIs to handle unique migration requirements.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize long-running data loads using partitioning, indexing, and SQL/PLSQL tuning.
- Data Integrity: Implement data quality and validation routines to ensure seamless migration from legacy systems (e.g., Mainframe) to Oracle.
2. Enterprise Scheduling & Middleware (OESS)
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client, owning all technical discussions and communication.
- Proactively lead and manage customer discussions, workshops, and status meetings.
- Translate complex business requirements and legacy system constraints into technical data migration strategies and designs.
- Manage client expectations, present technical solutions clearly, and articulate potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports, technical design documents, and post-migration summaries to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
3. Consulting & Client Engagement
- Define the project scope, effort estimates, and timelines in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and project governance during the migration process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and integration issues promptly to maintain project velocity.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, and/or data migration.
- Technical Expertise (Must-Have): Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, expert-level experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) (e.g., version 11g or 12c).
- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware, WebLogic Server, and Oracle Enterprise Scheduler (OESS).
- Database Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with experience in Oracle and other major relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Consulting Skills: Proven track record of successfully leading client-facing discussions, articulating technical concepts, and managing customer expectations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow).
- Familiarity with various source and target systems used in enterprise environments (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Oracle EBS).
- Middleware Orchestration: Familiarity with SOA Suite or Oracle Service Bus (OSB) integration patterns.
- Knowledge of Data Vault, Kimball, or Inmon data modeling methodologies.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, PMP/Scrum).
