Role Description The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and product needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting data models, implementing ETL workflows, optimizing data warehousing solutions, and ensuring data quality, reliability, and scalability. The role also involves collaborating closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to understand data requirements, define best practices, and deliver well-documented, secure data solutions. This is a contract, on-site role based in the Greater Chennai Area, requiring close coordination with local stakeholders and participation in in-person technical and design discussions.
Shift time: 01:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST

Qualifications:
- Proficient in Python and Scala is mandatory
- Strong data engineering skills, including experience with modern data platforms, distributed processing, and pipeline orchestration.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing, with the ability to design scalable, well-structured schemas for analytics and applications.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including building and optimizing batch and/or real-time data workflows.
- Applied data analytics capabilities, using data to derive insights, support decision-making, and validate product or business hypotheses.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL
- Experience with cloud data ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including managed databases, data warehouses, and related services.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices, with a focus on reliability, monitoring, and documentation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in the Greater Chennai Area, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners, and mentor junior team members.
