Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a proficient Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, efficient data pipelines and enterprise data solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement data management strategies, and ensure data quality, security, and availability. The Data Engineer will leverage experience in cloud platforms, big data tools, and modern development practices to enable data-driven decision-making and operational excellence across the organization.
Objectives
The Data Governance & Reference Data Product brings together the overall Data Governance framework along with Reference & Static Data across data domains (as listed below) supporting various consumers with in SSv and Client Group supporting the wider strategic objective to develop a central Data Management capability.

The Opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen for a Data Analysis to support the Change lead & Business Analysis work in the execution of strategy across data domains to drive consumer adoptions to trusted source, managing a book of work supporting multiple consumers across the Bank and ensure good Data Governance and controls are in place.
The Data Analysis & Project Manager is responsible for the following activities and deliverables within the portfolio and will lead priority initiatives with the most significant business cases, highest degree of complexity with
- Managing the multiple projects across the portfolio and creating associated governance.
- Bringing design thinking to the analysis and design processes to focus on business services consumers require, the outcomes the business want to achieve and transforming existing “as is” inefficiencies and risks.
- Conduct “As Is” and Future State process mapping associated with the delivery of functionality into Global Operational departments.
- Implementing an agile release management strategy, driving release cadence without impacting quality.
- Managing and coordinating changes to Business Services, Processes and Systems and ensuring ongoing compliance with existing Regulatory Reporting and Control requirements.
- Agreeing work, requirements and delivery options with producers and consumers to ensure benefits can be realised.
- Venue and Vendor Governance & attending shaping Industry working groups as appropriate.
- Provide thought leadership/critical thinking on the Target Operating Model (TOM) that the project deliverables are being delivered too.
- Manage Business change demands including and beyond Technology deliveries (e.g., Policies and Procedures, regulatory remediation, process improvement, governance).
- Working with Risk owners and risk stewards on overall escalation and ratification on prioritisation versus other change and BAU priorities.
- Ensure work has appropriate level of analysis, sizing for solution design and timelines for delivery.
- Risk acceptance agreement on behalf of the MSS Operations for items that are deferred or escalated to project governance on business risk meetings.
- Coordination of any other areas requiring update/remediation (non-IT core and ref data fixes)
- Market scanning of new and emerging initiatives or solutions that would improve the accuracy or productivity of data utilities.
- Identifying and delivering opportunities for continuous improvement within processes and systems.
- Working with the change programme in defining, shaping, and executing on initiatives that support improvements for Client to meet its reporting obligations, using appropriate tools, vendors, industry insights and strategies to ensure Client is within appropriate risk appetite.
- Working closely with Product Heads, Business Heads, Trusted Source Owners, Chief Data Office & Project Delivery Manager to agree the requirements and ensure alignment to the wider Data & Digital - DDI strategy.
- Working with IT Data Architects to design and create a strategic solution.
- Run consumer forums to gather Voice of Consumer and capture them accurately in the backlog in terms of a request.
- 17+ years industry experience in a Global Trading environment dealing with cross asset regulatory issues from Front office through middle and back office.
- Strong background in Investment Banking, Custody and Fund Services with knowledge of Reference & Static Data, and its application within these businesses.
- Should have Critical Thinking, able to perform Value stream mapping, shared services workflow & create target operating model (TOM), Data Modelling, Hands experience working on AI related initiatives, etc.,
- Identify how to support the requirements using data sources both internal and external to Client recognizing any licensing restrictions that apply.
- Markets & Security Services business knowledge is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of business architecture & modelling (e.g., Data Dictionary, Logical Data Model, Process Mapping).
- A highly developed understanding of the services offered by data service providers in the MSS OPS space (i.e., DTCC & other required market vendors).
- Experience of driving high performance of teams and individuals to meet performance targets aligned to objectives, through coaching and mentoring in role and as part of a wider team.
- Ability to become a trusted business partner with senior management across BAU and Change teams whilst building strong relationships.
- Influence and driving the right solutions and approach for our consumers.
- Collaboration and obtaining feedback from consumers to understand user needs and wants to drive solutions that deliver value.
- Working with the change community to support the transformation of ways of working. This includes tooling, coaches and implementing measures to track improvements delivered.
- Demonstrate a commercial mind-set when proposing/deciding on strategy.
- Act as coach and mentor to ensure roles required for delivery are fulfilled.
- Leverage network to influence change, achieve globally aligned processes, systems, and communication.
- Build and maintain networks with areas outside of MSS globally driving a culture of cross functional engagement.
- Highly skilled in use of MS Office tools, particularly MS-Excel, Word and Powerpoint, plus relevant project reporting and management tools (Clarity and MS-Project, Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint)
- Experience and knowledge of delivery in a DevOPS / agile practice model and reporting out to stakeholders in a clear and targeted manner for business / senior audiences.
- Experience of negotiating contracts and delivering with Vendors and third-party systems.
- Skilled in negotiating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to balance the need to deliver change rapidly with the need to deliver change in a governed manner in line with Client policy.
- Working in a large-scale Business Transformation / IT Programmer
- PMP or Prince certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken) – comfortable with detail and talking at senior levels.
- A can-do attitude; self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proven fast learner
- Structured approach able to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
- Takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution.
