Position Summary
We are hiring a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to lead credit risk analytics, underwriting frameworks, and portfolio monitoring for a fast-scaling fintech focused on digital lending. This role will work closely with the Founder.
This is a high-impact role for a professional with 8–12 years of experience and MANDATORY prior credit risk experience. The role offers a clear pathway to Credit Risk Manager, based on performance and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Policy & Underwriting - Design, implement, and refine credit policies, scorecards, and underwriting rules for unsecured retail lending.
- Risk Analytics - Analyze portfolio performance across cohorts and vintages (DPD buckets, roll rates, flow rates, NPA trends, loss curves).
- Strategy Optimization - Optimize approval rates vs risk through cut-offs, pricing, and limit assignment strategies.
- Portfolio Monitoring - Track early warning indicators and delinquency trends to manage portfolio health.
- Collections Strategy Input - Partner with collections team to improve recovery outcomes via segmentation strategies.
- Experimentation - Run A/B tests on credit policy changes and assess impact.
- Regulatory Alignment - Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines on credit risk and provisioning.
- Data & Reporting - Own risk dashboards and MIS for leadership.
- Cross-functional Execution - Collaborate with product, analytics, operations, and tech teams.
Candidate profile
- Experience - 8–12 years with mandatory credit risk experience in NBFCs, banks, or fintech lenders.
- Education - Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science from strong institutions such as IIT, IIM, other top-tier colleges.
- Technical Skills - Strong working knowledge of Excel, SQL, Python; basic knowledge of some BI tools is a plus but not mandatory.
- Analytical Skills - Strong command over cohort analysis, vintage curves, roll rates, loss estimation.
- Personality Traits - High ownership, detail-oriented.
- Communication - Ability to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
Compensation
Compensation will be discussed individually and finalized based on candidate profile, interview performance, technical assessment/tasks, and relevant experience.
