Role Description The Senior Counselor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The Senior Counselor will guide and advise students on overseas education options, including country selection, course choice, university shortlist, and application processes. Responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with universities and internal teams, and supporting students through admission, visa, and pre-departure stages. The role involves explaining services and procedures clearly, handling inquiries in person, by phone, and online, and participating in seminars, events, and outreach activities as needed. The Senior Counselor is also expected to mentor junior counselors, contribute to process improvements, and uphold Valmiki Group’s standards of service quality and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong counseling and advisory skills, including the ability to understand student goals and provide clear, structured guidance on overseas education pathways.
- Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English (spoken and written) and the ability to present information confidently to students and families.
- Candidates should possess solid organizational and administrative skills, including record-keeping, time management, and attention to detail in handling applications and documentation.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with international education systems, admission and visa procedures for major study destinations, and a service-oriented approach to student support.
- Candidates should possess basic computer and digital literacy, including comfort with CRM or student management systems, email, online conferencing tools, and office productivity software.
- Relevant experience in overseas education counseling, career guidance, or student advisory roles is highly beneficial; a bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred, with postgraduate qualifications considered an advantage.
- Candidates should possess the ability to work independently and in a team, demonstrate professionalism and integrity, and be willing to work flexible hours during peak admission seasons.
