Company Description Superfan.ng (SPNG) is an edtech learning platform dedicated to African languages and cultural knowledge. Role Description The Senior Copywriter role at Superfan.ng is a full-time, remote position focused on crafting compelling, culturally informed copy for a variety of digital touchpoints. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and editing long- and short-form content for the app, website, email campaigns, social media, press releases, and marketing materials. The Senior Copywriter will develop messaging frameworks, refine brand voice, and collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams to ensure consistent, inclusive, and engaging communication. This role also involves brainstorming creative campaigns, researching African cultural topics to ensure accuracy and respect, and optimizing copy for clarity, user engagement, and brand impact. The Senior Copywriter will mentor less experienced writers and contribute to content strategy that supports user acquisition, retention, and community growth.
Qualifications
- Strong Writing and Proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and error-free copy across multiple formats.
- Experience with Press Releases and Marketing content, including the ability to craft media-ready announcements and persuasive campaign materials.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across remote, cross-functional teams and adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
- Background in content, copywriting, or brand storytelling, ideally within edtech, cultural, or consumer digital products.
- Demonstrated understanding of or interest in African languages, cultures, and traditions, with sensitivity to representation and inclusivity.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with digital tools for content creation and collaboration (e.g., Google Workspace, project management platforms, basic SEO concepts).
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
