Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Controls Engineer based in Ahmedabad. The role involves designing, developing, and programming control systems, troubleshooting and diagnosing existing systems, and collaborating with teams to optimize control solutions. The Senior Controls Engineer will also be responsible for overseeing project completion, conducting quality control checks, and ensuring all systems meet industry standards and specifications. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 to 7 years of proficiency in PLC programming - Allen Bradley is preferred,
- HMI/SCADA development - Aveva Platform is preferred
- Experience with control system integration, electrical schematics, and hardware design
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus
- Ability to develop technical documentation, including operation manuals and test protocols
- Effective team collaboration and project management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or related industries is a plus
- Ability to develop and execute cause & effect test procedures
- Ability to create standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Familiarity with functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 61511
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong experience in client interaction, vendor coordination, and cross-functional team collaboration
- Ability to lead discussions during FAT/SAT, design reviews, and project meetings
- Effective documentation and reporting skills for project updates, risk assessments, and compliance records
- Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder expectations
