## *Role Description*
This is a full-time, on-site *Senior Contracts Engineer* role based in Mumbai. The Senior Contracts Engineer will be responsible for managing the complete contract lifecycle for commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate projects. The role includes preparation of tender documents, contract administration, estimation, BOQ preparation, vendor and subcontractor management, procurement support, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout project execution.
The individual will coordinate closely with project management, engineering, procurement, finance, and legal teams to ensure timely award of contracts, manage contractual variations, support commercial decision-making, and maintain accurate contract documentation. The role also involves participation in negotiations, contract risk assessment, dispute resolution support, and continuous improvement of contract management processes.
## *Key Responsibilities*
* Prepare, review, and evaluate tender documents, BOQs, technical specifications, and commercial proposals.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and support budgeting during project planning.
* Manage the complete tendering process, including contractor evaluation and recommendations.
* Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, work orders, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements.
* Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders during tendering and contract execution.
* Evaluate variation orders, change requests, and contractual implications.
* Monitor contract compliance and contractual obligations.
* Support procurement activities through commercial evaluations and vendor assessments.
* Maintain contract documentation, correspondence, and project commercial records.
* Assist in claim management, dispute resolution, extension of time (EOT), and contractual negotiations.
* Conduct commercial risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with project teams to optimize project execution while ensuring contractual compliance.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management best practices and process improvements.
## *Qualifications*
* Strong expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, measurements, and estimation for residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects.
* Experience in tendering, contractor selection, and contract administration.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, commercial terms, and claim management.
* Experience in preparing Work Orders, Purchase Orders, subcontract agreements, and contract documentation.
* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
* Professional certifications in Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, or Cost Management are preferred.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP and quantity surveying software.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
* Prior experience in a similar Contracts, Tendering, or Commercial role within real estate development in Mumbai.
