Senior Commissioning Lead – Data Centre Commissioning Manager (Mumbai)

The Project
This role is part of a complex, large-scale, mission-critical data centre project in Mumbai. You will work with a highly regarded client organisation and a skilled delivery team to deliver a facility of exceptional quality within a heavily regulated environment. This position suits professionals with strong commissioning and delivery experience who operate with integrity and professionalism at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor commissioning teams across multiple disciplines, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Take ownership of the full commissioning lifecycle for data centre projects, ensuring systems are tested, validated, and handed over to the highest standards.
- Manage and coordinate MEP commissioning activities, resolving technical challenges using deep subject-matter expertise and structured processes.
- Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and specialist suppliers to ensure delivery aligns with programme, cost, quality, and health & safety requirements.
- Drive interface coordination between packages, ensuring seamless integration of all building systems.
- Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the commissioning and handover phases.
- Identify project risks and implement robust mitigation strategies, particularly for mission-critical systems.
- Champion digital delivery, modern methods of construction (MMC), and sustainability initiatives, supporting net-zero carbon ambitions.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (essential).
- 10–15 years of experience in commissioning and delivery of data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
- Proven expertise in MEP systems commissioning, including electrical, mechanical, BMS, and critical infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from design through commissioning to operational handover.
- Experience working in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certification or membership in a relevant discipline is preferred.
