Role Description The Senior Chemist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, focused on the development and optimization of pigment products for various applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing test results, and supporting product scale-up from lab to production. The Senior Chemist will oversee quality control procedures, ensure compliance with internal standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of formulations and processes. This role collaborates closely with technical, production, and commercial teams to address customer requirements, troubleshoot application issues, and provide technical documentation. The Senior Chemist is also expected to mentor junior staff, maintain laboratory safety practices, and support R&D initiatives aligned with the company’s innovation goals.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills, including handling chemicals, preparing formulations, and operating relevant analytical instruments.
- Proficiency in quality control practices, with experience in testing pigments and monitoring consistency against defined specifications.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and solve complex technical problems related to pigment performance.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and research activities, particularly in pigments, coatings, inks, or related chemical industries.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of industrial pigment production processes and familiarity with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to document findings clearly, prepare technical reports, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
