We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Chandler to lead our candle production department. You are more than a maker; you are a technical expert who understands the chemistry of a perfect burn and the operational discipline required to lead a team. In this role, you will transition our artisanal vision into scalable, high-quality production.
Responsibilities
* Production Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process, from raw wax melting to final curing and packaging. Manage production schedules to meet wholesale and retail demands.
* Technical R&D: Conduct advanced testing on new wax blends, wicks, and fragrances. Troubleshoot complex issues such as tunneling, frosting, or poor scent throw.
* Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous QC protocols. Ensure every batch meets brand standards for aesthetics and safety compliance (IFRA/CLP).
* Inventory & Sourcing: Manage supplier relationships for high-quality materials. Track inventory levels to prevent production bottlenecks and optimize material costs.
* Team Mentorship: Lead and train junior candle makers, fostering a culture of precision, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional candle-making experience in a production environment.
* Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of various wax types (Soy, Beeswax, Coconut, Paraffin), fragrance load capacities, and wick-to-vessel calibration.
* Operational Skills: Experience with industrial melting equipment and scaling small-batch recipes to high-volume output.
* Detail-Oriented: A "scientific" approach to pouring temperatures, ambient room conditions, and curing times.
* Education: While a degree isn't strictly required, a background in chemistry or design is a strong plus.
