The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Strategy Consultant in the Building Materials (bathroom fittings, sanitaryware, and building materials) division.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a global team, providing top-tier service to existing and prospective clients while expanding the business on a product and global level.
Job Description:
ROLE PURPOSE:
- Advance and deploy the India Strategy.
- Work on and lead organizational transformation projects.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Corporate Strategy Development
- Support the MD in formulating short-term and long-term corporate strategy.
- Gather, analyse, and interpret in depth market intelligence relevant to the Indian market (industry and adjacency) and enhance associated strategic platforms including competitors benchmarking
- Identify growth opportunities across new markets, products, channels and collaborate with the leadership team to implement of the growth opportunities.
Strategic Planning & Business Performance:
- Drive annual business planning and strategic planning cycles.
- Facilitate quarterly business reviews with leadership teams.
- Track strategic KPIs and progress against company goals by creating management dashboard and performance analytics
Strategic Initiatives & Transformation:
- Steer and support the implementation of key strategic initiatives, including the Next Level Project, actionable roadmaps and business priorities
- Lead and collaborate with cross functional strategic project and international teams to design best in industry processes and solutions for India’s most complex challenges.
- Organize sessions, workshops, and internal communication activities related to strategic programs and launches.
- Maintain accurate trackers, timelines, and dashboards to report program progress and milestones.
Business Intelligence & Insights:
- Conduct data analysis, maintain MIS updates, and prepare decision support material for leadership.
- Track industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor developments with AI / other resources.
MD Office Support:
- Work closely and support the MD in preparing board presentations, leadership communications, and strategic reports.
- Coordinate the company’s New Launch Program in partnership.
- Prepare high quality business materials and strategic presentations for key platforms such as:
- Supervisory Board Meetings, Annual Budget Meeting, Quarterly Business Review, Business Plan Meetings
- Assist the MD with special projects, operational initiatives, and process improvement activities.
- Prepare meeting agendas, document minutes, monitor action items, and ensure timely follow ups.
- Track execution of leadership decisions and action items.
- Coordinate with business heads to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and partner with the Management Team as a key driver of organizational transformation, supporting India’s development as a strategic home market.
Culture Champion:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure seamless coordination and follow through.
- Serve as a role model and champion for behavioural and cultural change within India.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Postgraduate degree from a top-tier university with consistent outstanding academic record;
- Total of 8 to 10 years of experience with 4-6 years of experience from leading (consulting) companies, preferably including 2-4 years in a leadership role within the business; international assignments are a plus
- Entrepreneurial and results-driven achiever with strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and written, in English
- Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Proficiency in documentation, report creation, and structured communication.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen
- Rich functional knowledge, including but not limited to Strategy, Business Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Product Development, Project Management, Marketing & Sales, etc.
- Expert in at least one of the areas: Digital Transformation / Business Intelligence / Advanced Analytics / S&OP / Pricing / Retail / eCommerce / End Consumer Branding / Durable Consumer Goods
- Proven project management skills.
