Sobel Consultancy is looking for an India-based external independent business development partner to support the expansion of our Medical Devices business.
This role is focused on building relationships with Indian medical device manufacturers and exporters, identifying high-value commercial opportunities, leading discovery conversations, and driving qualified opportunities through the proposal stage in close collaboration with our internal technical and coordination teams.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, commercially strong, and technically credible professional who already understands the medical device regulatory environment and can engage with clients in a meaningful way from the very first conversation.
In this role, you would be expected to develop relationships with relevant industry stakeholders, identify opportunities related to regulatory, quality, clinical, biological, compliance, and market-entry consulting services, and help structure opportunities in a way that allows our internal team to scope and support them effectively.
This is not an entry-level sales role and not a pure lead-generation position. We are specifically looking for someone who can combine:
- strong business development / consultative sales capability
- relevant sector knowledge
- an existing network in the Indian medical device ecosystem
- the ability to lead qualified commercial discussions with credibility and structure
The ideal profile would bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Medical Devices
- Regulatory Affairs
- Quality / Compliance
- Biological Evaluation
- Clinical Evaluation
- International Market Access
An existing network among Indian medical device manufacturers, exporters, or related stakeholders is strongly preferred.
It is also important to clarify that this is an external independent contractor / service provider role. Sobel Consultancy does not currently operate a local employing entity in India, so the selected professional would work with us on a service-provider basis under an independent contractor agreement. Candidates should therefore be able to operate independently through their own local business or freelance setup and with their own work equipment and operating infrastructure.
From a compensation perspective, this role is primarily performance-based. It is designed for professionals who are comfortable working in a results-driven commercial model, with compensation mainly linked to business generation and outcomes.
At the same time, this role is not expected to function as a standalone technical delivery role. Technical scoping, specialist review, detailed regulatory assessment, and final proposal validation remain supported by Sobel Consultancy’s internal coordinators and technical experts. What we are looking for is someone who can act as a strong commercial and relationship bridge between prospective clients and our internal team, and who can help move the right opportunities forward in a structured and effective way.
