Job Title: Senior Business Analyst – Mobile App & Web Applications
Location: Bangalore
Department: IT
Experience Required: 6–9 years
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and thoughtful Senior Business Analyst to lead requirement discovery, product thinking, and business solution design for mobile applications, web platforms, admin portals, CMS systems, and internal digital tools.
This role requires someone who can go beyond basic requirement gathering and think deeply about business problems, user journeys, system behavior, operational impact, scalability, and long-term product value. The ideal candidate should be able to work with leadership, product teams, UI/UX designers, developers, QA, vendors, and business stakeholders to convert ideas into clear, practical, and well-structured product requirements.
The candidate should bring strong communication, documentation, analytical thinking, product mindset, and leadership qualities. They should be comfortable challenging assumptions, asking the right questions, identifying gaps, and proposing better solutions instead of only documenting what is requested.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirement discovery sessions with business stakeholders, product owners, leadership teams, designers, developers, QA, and external vendors.
- Understand business goals, user needs, operational challenges, and technical constraints before converting them into product requirements.
- Prepare detailed business requirement documents, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, workflow diagrams, and use cases.
- Drive requirements for mobile apps, web applications, admin portals, CMS systems, dashboards, and internal business tools.
- Analyze user journeys and business workflows to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, edge cases, and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with UI/UX teams to review Figma/Lucidchart designs and ensure the experience aligns with business objectives, usability needs, and user behavior.
- Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure requirements are technically clear, feasible, scalable, and implementation-ready.
- Support QA teams by defining test scenarios, validating business rules, reviewing test coverage, and supporting UAT.
- Own backlog refinement by prioritizing requirements based on business value, user impact, urgency, and technical dependency.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives.
- Use Jira, Monday.com, Confluence, Figma, Lucidchart, or similar tools for requirement management, documentation, tracking, and communication.
- Work with leadership to convert high-level business ideas into structured product roadmaps, features, phases, and measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, integration partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure clarity, accountability, and timely delivery.
- Analyze user feedback, business data, usage patterns, and stakeholder inputs to recommend feature improvements.
- Identify process gaps and propose practical solutions that improve user experience, operational efficiency, system usability, and business outcomes.
- Mentor junior BAs or team members by reviewing documentation, improving requirement quality, and sharing best practices.
- Bring market awareness and ideas from other mobile/web applications, SaaS products, and digital platforms to improve product thinking.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA preferred, especially with specialization in Business, Strategy, Operations, Systems, or Product Management.
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Functional Consultant, or similar role.
- Strong experience working on mobile applications, web applications, admin portals, CMS platforms, or SaaS products.
- Excellent requirement gathering, documentation, analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong ability to write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, workflows, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery models and sprint-based product development.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Monday.com, Confluence, Figma, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to explain complex requirements in simple and structured language.
- Ability to think deeply about business problems, user experience, system logic, edge cases, and long-term product scalability.
- Experience working with UI/UX teams and reviewing design flows from a business and user perspective.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect business goals, user needs, data, and technology solutions.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments, senior stakeholders, technical teams, QA teams, and vendors.
- Understanding of CMS systems, user roles, permissions, admin workflows, content publishing, and approval flows.
- Exposure to analytics, dashboards, event tracking, reporting requirements, and data-driven product improvements.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive clarity in ambiguous situations.
Leadership Expectations
- Act as a bridge between business, product, design, technology, QA, and leadership teams.
- Take ownership of requirement quality from idea stage to release.
- Challenge unclear or incomplete requirements and help stakeholders define the right solution.
- Think from both business and user perspectives, not only from a feature perspective.
- Guide junior team members in writing better user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documents.
- Help improve BA processes, documentation standards, sprint readiness, and requirement governance.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, blockers, and business impact clearly to stakeholders.
- Bring maturity, structure, and clarity to discussions where multiple teams or priorities are involved.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on customer-facing mobile apps or web platforms.
- Experience with admin portals, CMS systems, internal business tools, or workflow-based applications.
- Experience working with third-party vendors, agencies, or integration partners.
- Exposure to product strategy, roadmap planning, user research, or business process improvement.
- Experience in defining analytics requirements, dashboard KPIs, user behavior tracking, or reporting needs.
- Basic understanding of AI tools and how they can support documentation, analysis, research, user story writing, and productivity.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a mature and structured thinker who can understand business goals, ask the right questions, identify gaps, and convert ideas into clear product requirements. They should not only document requirements but also help improve the idea, simplify the solution, and guide the team toward better business outcomes.
This person should have strong ownership, leadership potential, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with senior stakeholders, product teams, technical teams, and vendors.
