The Marine Department of COWI India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets. It offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of Ports, Harbours, Coastal and Marine structures, and Heavy civil infrastructure etc.
In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with the Head of the Section. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in BIM implementation, 3D modelling, and marine/coastal engineering design for projects such as ports, harbors, coastal protection, marine terminals, offshore structures, and related infrastructure.
You will play a central part in producing high-quality BIM models and data-rich deliverables, advancing digital workflows across our marine projects, and supporting coordination across disciplines.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Develop and manage BIM models for marine and port infrastructure projects, including breakwaters, quay walls, jetties, berths, piers, dredging layouts, offshore structures, and seawater intake/pumping stations.
- Collaborate with marine engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to convert design concepts into coordinated and intelligent 3D BIM models.
- Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), client standards, and industry best practices while maintaining BIM documentation and quality standards.
- Perform multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection, and data validation using BIM tools such as Tekla, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Rhino.
- Support advanced digital delivery processes including 4D/5D modelling, construction sequencing, visualization,
- Support automation of workflows using BIM tools and scripting (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper- preferred).
- Mentor junior BIM professionals, contribute to digital delivery capability building, and apply knowledge of international marine projects, sustainability, lifecycle, and asset management practices.

Furthermore, you have:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and come with 10 years of total work experience with 8+ years’ experience in marine engineering design and digital delivery.
- Demonstrated experience as a BIM Specialist/Coordinator on major marine or coastal infrastructure projects.
- High proficiency in BIM and modeling tools such as Tekla, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Rhino, and Grasshopper. Experience in 2D automation, parametric modelling, and workflow automation to improve drawing and tender delivery efficiency will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of offshore/nearshore construction methods, marine environments, and Common Data Environments (BIM 360, ProjectWise, etc.).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
