About EG
At EG, we build software that makes a difference.
Our industry-specific software helps people and businesses work smarter every day. From doctors spending more time with patients to builders running safer, more efficient projects.
Our software is built by peers from the industry and backed by EG's scale for stability, innovation, and security. We are a thriving global workforce of 3000+ employees, with a 800+ strong team based in Mangaluru, India.
If you are ambitious, curious, and take pride in ownership, you will thrive here. You will be trusted to grow your skills, shape meaningful solutions, and make an impact together with talented colleagues across borders.
About The Team
At EG, we develop industry-specific software for both private and public sector customers across the Nordics and beyond. With deep roots in Denmark and a growing presence in India, Poland, and the rest of Europe, we combine Scandinavian engineering culture with global talent to create software that truly matters.
Our India team — EGDK India Pvt. Ltd. — is a key part of this mission. You will work alongside skilled colleagues across borders, contributing to solutions that are business-critical for thousands of customers every day.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions using Microsoft Stack
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
- Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other relevant tooling
- Work within SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for day-to-day development and administration
- Structure and prepare data with AI and ML consumption in mind — supporting clean data contracts, traceability, and the transformation of raw data into well-defined, model-ready datasets
- Split your time evenly between new feature development and ongoing maintenance of existing data warehouse structures (approx. 50/50)
- Proactively investigate and resolve data quality, performance, and reliability issues and incidents across the warehouse structures environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into data warehouse models
- Monitor and tune database performance
- Support reporting and analytics initiatives by ensuring data quality, consistency, and availability
- Contribute to documentation of data models, processes, and technical decisions
Must Have Skills And Experience
We are looking for a structured and technically strong developer who takes ownership of their work and communicates well across teams. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing)
- Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for development, debugging, and performance analysis
- Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, principles, and architectural patterns
- Experience with ETL processes — SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience is a strong advantage
- Ability to work with REST APIs and JSON data formats
- Hands-on experience with Python or PowerShell scripting
- Solid experience with Git — including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and resolving merge conflicts
- Comfortable working with Jira for sprint planning, issue tracking, and linking commits and pull requests to tickets
- Good communication skills in English — written and spoken
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed, international team
Nice To Have
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or SSRS
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or other cloud-based data integration tools
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles
- Domain knowledge within Finance, Sales, HR or similar
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric — including Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, or Dataflows Gen2
- Understanding of how data warehouses and pipelines serve as foundations for AI and ML workloads - including concepts such as feature engineering, data lineage, and model-ready dataset design
- Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, or similar cloud AI services and how structured data feeds into them
Your Workday And Tasks
As a Data Warehouse Specialist at EG India, you will be a central contributor to our data warehousing and business intelligence efforts. You will design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and warehouse structures that enable our teams to turn raw data into actionable insight.
You will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and product owners across our international teams to understand data requirements and translate them into reliable, scalable solutions.
EG is on a strategic journey to integrate AI and machine learning more deeply into our products and internal operations. As part of this transformation, the data warehouse is evolving from a reporting layer into the analytical foundation that powers intelligent, data-driven capabilities. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping that foundation — building data structures and pipelines that are not only reliable today, but ready to support AI and ML models tomorrow.
