We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Lead / Full Stack Architect who can take ownership of the platform’s technical architecture, guide the development team, and help us build a secure, scalable, and high-performance technology ecosystem.
About the Role:
NuSwipe Technology Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a Senior Backend Developer – Node.js / NestJS to join our growing engineering team. We are looking for a strong, hands-on backend engineer who can build secure, scalable, reliable, and transaction-intensive backend systems using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
You will work closely with our Technical Lead / Full Stack Architect, Frontend Developer, and Flutter Developer to develop production-grade backend services, APIs, third-party integrations, transaction workflows, and other core platform capabilities.
This is a hands-on development role for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems and taking ownership of modules from development through production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
- Build secure, scalable, and well-structured REST APIs.
- Develop and maintain integrations with multiple third-party APIs and external services.
- Implement reliable payment, order, transaction, and fulfilment workflows.
- Integrate payment gateways, webhooks, and server-side payment verification mechanisms.
- Work with PostgreSQL for transactional data, including schema design, queries, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Implement caching, rate limiting, and asynchronous processing using Redis and appropriate queue technologies.
- Handle API failures, retries, timeouts, idempotency, duplicate requests, and transaction consistency.
- Develop authentication, authorization, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Follow secure coding practices and protect sensitive credentials and application data.
- Write clean, modular, reusable, maintainable, and testable production code.
- Write unit and integration tests for critical backend functionality.
- Participate in architecture and system-design discussions with the Technical Lead.
- Participate in pull requests, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate closely with React/Next.js and Flutter developers for API integration.
- Maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Troubleshoot development, staging, and production issues.
- Contribute to monitoring, logging, deployment, and production-readiness processes.
- Follow Git, branching, code-review, CI/CD, and engineering standards established by the technical team.
Required Technical Skills:
- Node.js – Strong hands-on backend development experience
- NestJS – Strong experience building production-grade backend applications
- TypeScript & JavaScript (ES6+)
- PostgreSQL / SQL – Database design, queries, indexing, transactions and performance optimization
- Redis – Caching, rate limiting and background-processing use cases
- RESTful APIs – Design, development and integration
- Third-Party API Integrations – Strong hands-on experience integrating external services
- Webhooks – Implementation, validation and failure handling
- API Reliability – Idempotency, retries, timeouts, error handling and duplicate-transaction prevention
- Database Transactions & Concurrency – ACID concepts, locking and transaction consistency
- Authentication & Authorization – JWT, OAuth 2.0 concepts and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- API & Application Security – Input validation, rate limiting, encryption fundamentals, OWASP best practices and secure secrets handling
- Payment Gateway Integration – Payment verification, webhooks, failed/pending transactions and refund workflows (preferred)
- Asynchronous Processing / Message Queues – BullMQ, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS or similar (preferred)
- AWS – Working knowledge of cloud services such as EC2/ECS, RDS, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, IAM and Secrets Manager
- Docker – Containerization and application deployment fundamentals
- Git / GitHub / GitLab – Branching, pull requests, code reviews and collaborative development
- CI/CD – Working understanding of GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar pipelines
- Testing – Jest, unit testing, integration testing, API testing and Postman
- Logging & Monitoring – Production debugging, structured logging and familiarity with CloudWatch/Sentry
- Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID Principles, Clean Code and scalable backend architecture
Good to Have: MongoDB, Kafka, Kubernetes, Nginx, Microservices Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, Grafana and Prometheus.
Experience Required: 4–6 years of backend development experience with strong recent hands-on experience in Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript.
Experience with BullMQ, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Kafka, or other message/queue technologies will be an advantage.
Required Experience:
- 4–6 years of professional backend/software development experience
- Minimum 3+ years of strong hands-on Node.js experience preferred
- Production experience with NestJS and TypeScript
- Experience developing production-grade APIs and backend services
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Experience integrating third-party APIs
- Experience working with Git-based development and code-review workflows
- Experience debugging and resolving production-level backend issues
- Ability to independently take ownership of assigned backend modules
Preferred Experience:
Experience in FinTech, digital wallets, e-commerce, marketplaces, rewards, loyalty, or transaction-heavy platforms will be highly preferred.
