Job Description
We are seeking a Senior AWS Application Development Architect to define and guide the application architecture for the AWS FleetHub platform.
This role combines hands‑on application architecture, technical leadership, and mentoring. You will be responsible for designing cloud‑native application patterns, guiding mid‑level developers, and ensuring alignment with overall cloud architecture and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Application Architecture & Design
- In collaboration with business stakeholders and IT teams design scalable, secure, and maintainable AWS application solutions that meet business requirements
- Define application architecture standards and patterns for the Fleethub platform
- Ensure alignment with enterprise cloud architecture and AWS best practices
Technical Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor mid‑level AWS Application Developers
- Review code, designs, and pull requests to ensure quality and consistency
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for application‑related topics
HandsOn Development
- Contribute directly to critical application components and complex features
- Support modernization, refactoring, and cloud‑native transformation initiatives
Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with Cloud Architects, DevSecOps, and Product Owners
- Work with global, cross‑functional teams
- Ensure applications follow security, compliance, and operational standards
- Support integration with other enterprise systems and services as well as 3rd party systems
Documentation & Standards
- Maintain application architecture documentation, diagrams, and design guidelines
- Define development best practices and coding standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing and building AWS‑based applications at scale
- Expertise in Python 3.X, Django 3.2.x, Django Rest Framework 3.14.x (edited), Celery, Flask, or Node.js, plus modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Docker Swarm, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes)
- Deep understanding of cloud‑native patterns (microservices, event‑driven, serverless)
- Strong experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code concepts
- Knowledge of cloud security and application‑level threat mitigation
- Good problem‑solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or mentoring development teams
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
- AWS Professional‑level certifications are a plus
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience
- 3–5+ years in a senior or architectural role
